Organiser and scope

SHPILKI is a party series organised by TANGENT EVENTS e.U., Kenyongasse 23–25/805, 1070 Vienna, Austria (“we”). These terms apply to shpilki.com, to guestlist registrations and ticket purchases for SHPILKI events, to attending them and to coterie introductions. They apply to consumers within the meaning of the Austrian Consumer Protection Act (KSchG) and to businesses. Full provider details are in the Imprint.

Events and changes

An announced event is for information only; registration opens when “Join the guestlist” appears on this site. Line-up, running order, times and rooms may change for organisational, artistic or safety reasons where this is reasonable for guests and does not change the character of the event.

Guestlist and tickets

Registration and ticket sales run on Luma (Luma Labs, Inc.), whose terms apply in addition to these. A free guestlist registration is valid once Luma confirms it. Where a registration needs our approval, there is no right to be approved. Guestlist entry may be limited by capacity or a stated arrival time. Entry prices are announced for each event and can depend on the time you arrive.

A paid ticket is bought when Luma confirms the order. Prices are in euro and include VAT; payment is processed by Luma’s payment provider.

Personal registration

Guestlist spots and tickets are personal. They may not be transferred, resold or offered for sale. We may compare the name with your ID at the door and refuse entry on a registration or ticket obtained through resale or in someone else’s name.

Cancellation, postponement and refunds

Event tickets are a leisure service for a specific date, so there is no 14-day right of withdrawal (§ 18 (1) 10 FAGG). You can cancel a free registration on Luma at any time. Paid tickets are not refundable unless we offer a refund on Luma or the law requires one.

If we cancel an event, the ticket price is refunded through Luma. If we move it to a new date, tickets stay valid; if you cannot come on the new date, you can ask for a refund.

Age, ID and security

Entry is 18+. Bring a valid official photo ID (passport, identity card or driving licence); without one we cannot let you in. Security may check bags and refuse items that put others at risk, including weapons, glass and illegal substances.

Door and dress code

SHPILKI is a night to dress for, and the door applies the dress code announced for the event. The door and venue security decide on entry, for example when a guest is visibly intoxicated or the room is full. We never refuse entry because of ethnic origin, skin colour, religion or belief, disability, gender or sexual orientation.

A guest turned away for a reason of their own — no valid ID, intoxication, or not meeting the announced dress code — has no claim to a refund.

At the event

The house rules of the venue apply, and instructions from staff and security must be followed. We do not tolerate harassment, discrimination or violence; anyone who endangers or disturbs others may be asked to leave without a refund.

Music is played loud and lighting effects such as strobes and haze may be used; hearing protection is recommended. Where there is a cloakroom, the venue runs it under its own conditions.

Photos and videos

Photos and videos are taken at our events for documentation and promotion, for example on this website and on social media. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) or, for targeted portraits, your consent. You can object on site to our team or by email to office@tangent-events.com; we respect the right to one’s own image (§ 78 UrhG). Details are in the Privacy Policy.

The coterie

An introduction to the coterie is an invitation to talk, not an application with a right to acceptance; we decide at our discretion. The password to the private area is personal — do not share it or the private page. We may change or end access at any time.

Liability

The statutory warranty rules apply. We are liable without limitation for personal injury and for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence. For slight negligence we are liable only as far as mandatory law provides; mandatory consumer rights under the KSchG and ABGB remain unaffected. We are not liable for personal belongings lost or damaged at the event unless we caused the loss.

This website

shpilki.com presents SHPILKI events and the private coterie area. Use it lawfully and do not interfere with its operation or its access controls. SHPILKI branding, texts and original artwork are protected and may not be used commercially without our permission. Images and audio belong to their respective owners.

Force majeure

Circumstances beyond our control — such as official orders, natural events, epidemics, strikes, or the failure of the venue or essential service providers — release us from our obligations while they last. If an event cannot take place as a result, paid tickets are refunded.

Data protection

We process personal data under the GDPR and the Austrian Data Protection Act. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Final provisions

Austrian law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Consumers keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where they live. For businesses, the court with subject-matter jurisdiction for 1070 Vienna is competent; for consumers, the statutory places of jurisdiction apply (§ 14 KSchG).

We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board. If a provision is invalid, the rest remains valid. The version in force when you register or buy a ticket applies.
